New Member Check In / Re: Knox Creek Newbie
« on: August 01, 2017, 12:42:10 AM »
Sorry, got all tied up on business work and forgot to log in here. Live in Knox Creek community. While loading up my ATV, someone stopped by and said hi. Told me about this site. I'm horrible remembering names.

I have a Jeep Wrangler Sport. It's a slow build in progress. I found that I needed lights, bumper, wench and CB for the places I go with my friends. So that was what I started with.

I am an outdoor maniac. Love to ATV, Jeep and Kayak. Just got back from Reliance, Tennessee at Hiwassee River. Fun little kayak trip. Having a Jeep really helped with finding a spot to park...on the rocks...all the other spots were taken.
Welcome! I live on Knox Creek Trail. You must have the yellow WAYALIFE ride. There's only one other Wrangler I know of in the neighborhood and I have never seen it move in five years.

Installed 10 new third brake lights. I should've asked for a discount. I can only see 5.

Very cool! How did you end up wiring it? I did this on mine recently and had to build a make-shift adapter for the 3rd brake light cable assembly.
Thanks! I cut the third brake light wire  about 8 inches from the cannon plug inside the large access panel on the tailgate and soldered in about an 8 foot set of wires. I ran them with the  rest of the wiring along the tailgate, down the hinge, and out the seal near the tire carrier hinge. It runs up the tire carrier to the light from there. The only aspect I'm really not happy with is the exposed wires from the tailgate to the tire carrier hinge.

Sanded primed and a coat of rattle can bedliner.

Big improvement! You going to chop them too?

I still need to get my exhaust painted. Or just remove it
I have 3/4 of a can left if you want it.

Finished a big mod today. Painted my stock exhaust flat black with high temp paint. I think I magically gained an inch of clearance.

Spotted these guys at Pt Mallard and just missed them.

I see they are again throwing caution to the wind and chancing getting caught in another downpour.

I took this picture as I was high tailing to the house being scared of same downpour.
We made it home unscathed! I try to keep a close eye on the radar. Misjudged it last week. Finally completely dry yesterday. She's ready for another shower!

Costco. They will fill a 100 gallon tank for about $40-45.

Finally made the leap and chopped the fronts last week. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. Definitely a more complicated process than the rears. Not a permanent solution but they will get me back on the trail before I can afford new fenders.
