Jeep Talk / Axle Seals - Where to go for replacement?
« on: January 20, 2017, 06:10:51 AM »
Lords and Ladies - Had my rear brakes done yesterday (pads and rotors were shot - no more buying used vehicles!). While getting this done at NTB in Madison, they noticed, and showed me where the axle seals on both sides were leaking. They didn't have the machine to press them out unfortunately (but they did clean out my rear diff for free - happy with that), so looking for a shop in the area to get this done. Any recommendations?

Jeep Talk / CB Guidance Appreciated :)

2 questions - 1. I got one of those small cb's and a magnetic antenna for Christmas from a co-worker. Looking at where to mount it and I've seen a few locations. 1 is on a bracket at the top of the window, 1 is in the "change pocket" on the dash over the radio and 1 on the side of the console. Looking at the mount at the top of the window, but wondering if the cb "flops around" when off-roading. If I put it on the dash it will eliminate the use of that holding area. Finally, the side of the console looks to be a bit less aesthetically appealing. 2. Is the antenna I got okay or would you recommend going to a Firestik? I have an SWR meter to tune the antenna so that is covered.

Any guidance from you guru's out there is greatly appreciated and Merry Christmas to all!!!

Jeep Talk / Jeep vets

Sirs/Ma'ams - is there a Jeep group that supports Veterans causes? I am only asking as I'm curious if you all do parades and such like the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA), Vette's for Vets, etc. and would love to jump on board if so. Many thanks for any information, and even more appreciation for allowing me to join up with such an amazing group of folks here!!!

Got back from lunch to see one of your business cards in my Jeep's window - many thanks! I drive a 2012 Jeep JK Sport - light offroad to fishing holes and camping, but mostly a daily driver :)
