PSA:

As some of you may know, there has been an annual unofficial Easter Ride at the TVA power lines on Bingham / Coal Mine / Bice / Estill Fork / Iron Gap / Whatever You Want To Call It for years.  In the past it got to be a pretty big affair, with hundreds of people showing up.  Unfortunately, most of the land around that area that has to be used to access the power lines is privately owned and wheelers have been trespassing, tearing up property, and leaving trash everywhere.  There have been a couple of bad accidents, and I believe a few years ago there were shots fired.

What was a good time by a relatively small group of people got too big and turned into a bad thing.

If you plan to wheel that weekend, or any time for that matter, please respect other people's property and try not to trespass.  And definitely pick up your trash (and even other people'e trash) when out wheeling.

This message is from the Madison County Sheriff's Office:

Extra Patrol for Bingham, Coal Mine and Bice Mountains in Northeast Madison County Easter Weekend
Lieutenant Donny Shaw from Madison County Sheriff's Office · 7m ago

The Madison County Sheriff's Office along with Alabama Game Wardens will maintain a presence on Easter weekend (15 April 2016) in the area of Bingham, Coal Mine and Bice Mountains in Northeast Madison County. Since 2014 at the request of land owners the Sheriff's Office has maintained a presence on Easter weekend to deter unauthorized persons and vehicles from participating in what had come to be known as the “Easter Ride”.

The TVA has an easement over the property where power lines and towers are located. However, the property immediately beneath these areas is private property and not part of any "public land". In previous years the "Easter Ride" has damaged this private property.

Furthermore land owners had suffered damaged property (land and structures) and theft over these weekend events. Land owners are further concerned of the possibility of injuries or loss of life during these events. Our presence is intended to relieve them of those concerns.

The MCSO posts this pretty much every year, but the risk of getting a ticket, or worse your vehicle impounded, is not worth it IMO.
If you want to wheel, there are plenty of legal places to do it.  Don't be That Guy or That Girl.

Jeep Talk / Picture Game Challenge
« on: March 07, 2017, 10:02:12 AM »
Rules:

1. No photoshops
2. Jeep has to be clearly visible, and preferably yours
3. Picture has to be taken after the challenge is introduced
4. No, vehicular-themed pictures don’t have to be of a Jeep.  But pictures with Jeeps score 2x interweb cookies.
5. If the current scenario isn't completed in 2 weeks, then the person posting the challenge answers it with the correct picture and chooses a new one to keep the game going.
6. If you win the challenge, you get bragging rights and get to post the next challenge.
7. Make sure to post your challenge in larger, colored font. This helps new comers who will read pages and pages of the thread in order to prevent repeating a challenge. Colors and font size options are up to the poster.
8. The person who initiates the challenge decides whether the picture posted meets the challenge.  No new challenges until a winner has been declared by the initiator of the current challenge.
9.  In the unlikely event of a tie (2 winning posts submitted with the exact same time stamp on the forum), both parties shall engage in a match of Rochambeau to determine the winner.  Personal Messages from the parties entered into the tie will be sent separately to the originator of the challenge, who will then declare a winner.
10.  Any lewd, abusive, or offensive content can and will be removed at the discretion of the OP & site admins.
11.  Bacon

For the first challenge, we will start relatively easy:  A picture of your Jeep parked next to another Jeep of a different letter designation, i.e. your JK next to a CJ, your TJ next to a MJ, etc.

Hello, my name is AMP, and I am a Heepaholic.  It has been 7 days since my last Heep mod.
Seen a bunch of you around, hope to meet more.

My ride is a 2007 Unlimited Rubicon.  I have had it for the past 6 years or so.
Mods include the usual suspects:  Axle shafts front & rear, front & rear bumpers, winch, 2.5" lift with 1.25 BL, 37's on TWF double beadlocks, and two additional cylinders added to increase the fun factor.

Looking forward to attending some meet-n-greets and trail rides.
