Chop, cut, rebuild front bumper
« on: June 21, 2017, 09:06:33 PM »
I currently have a DV8 FS-1 full width front bumper. I like the bumper but no longer need a full width and would like to lose some weight off the front end of my Jeep. Instead of spending money to replace the bumper, I was thinking of cutting off the parts I no longer need and possibly relocating the upper tube braces to convert it to a stubby.

With the help of the Extreme Terrain website, I was able to do a quick mock up of what it would look like when I'm done.

Thoughts??

I think it looks good. I would suggest cutting the outside bars completely off. I think it would look cool though.

It would be easier to do with cutting the outside bars off. Less welding that way.

I like it. The "without bars" version looks a lot like my Warn stubby

I like it just like you modded up picture shows it. And I like to weld.

I was hoping you'd say that Mike because you were the one that inspired the mock up from when we were talking about it while we installed the leveling kit!
