TJ Headlight Upgrade
« on: December 13, 2017, 01:53:01 PM »
I'm almost 2 weeks into my 2006 TJ Unlimited ownership and love the Jeep already, but the sealed beam headlights are something that I think want to upgrade sooner than later.  I've seen the Hella E-Codes, the KC, and the Rampage H4 conversion kits, but was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with any of them on a TJ?

Thanks in advance

Lately it seems everyone is going with the Procomp LEDs. I know @MattB as well as a few others. And I have heard nothing but good things about them. Especially the price tag. Regular they are only $330 but I've seen then as low as $230 on some Christmas deals.

Go with the pro comps. They are very bright, they have a pretty clean cutoff and they don't blind oncoming traffic when adjusted correctly. Plus they have the antiflicker harnesses built in and are direct plug and play.
I have a jeep, with parts on it.

I've got the Truck-Lite LED Headlights on my LJ - love them - they're expensive, but very high quality!

There may be equivalent ones from other vendors by now, but when I bought, Truck-Lite was the only reliable replacement.

At our house we currently have JW Speaker EVO J, ProComps and truck lights.  The ProComps are the clear winner all things considered.

I just recently upgraded mine, I bought SunPie LEDs on Amazon. They come with a bluetooth receiver that allows you to change the color of the headlights from your phone. For only $150 I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I finally got around to buying some lights.  As much as I really wanted the LED's, I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much after all of the other things I've added to the Jeep since buying it.  However, I bought the Hella e-Codes with H4 bulbs and am extremely happy with them.  Great light output, easily replaceable bulbs, and still have glass lenses that won't fog or fade over time (hopefully).  Thanks for everyone's input!

For anyone else who might be interested, the Pro Comp lights can be had for much less than the price quoted above.  Add to cart.

They can be installed on CJ, TJ/LJ, or JK.  CJs need to have the headlight bucket trimmed as they are not as deep as the TJ platform.
